Jerry Price
Welding Instructor
Jerry Price started working at Plateau Mining Company in 1968; there he worked as a tipple hand, and was the mechanic for all surface equipment, and the Coal Prep. Plant. Later, he transferred to the mine and worked as a mechanic underground in a section. While attending CEU, he took classes to acquire certifications for Fire Boss, Mine Foreman Surface foreman, Mine Rescue, and Electrician. Afterwards, Jerry became the Maintenance Superintendent over the maintenance on all of the mechanical and electrical equipment underground and in the shop.
In 1996 Jerry operated a remote controlled continuous miner to cut out the first portals at the Willow Creek Mine. After retiring in 2000 with 32 years of experience, Jerry opened Price Machine & Repair, which a machining, welding, hydraulic, and fabrication shop. Jerry has been married for 42 years, has 3 sons, 6 grandchildren, and enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, and riding 4 wheelers.
